WhizBase is a simple yet powerful tool used to publish databases on websites. It functions as an intermediary between the web visitor and the database that's hosted on a Web server, creating an HTML document in response to any search. WhizBase is a hypertext preprocessor. This means that the program is installed on the web server and operates from there.

WhizBase is a standalone program: it needs no programs or plugins to work. Thus, the user who visits the WhizBase pages uses it as if they were visiting any other website. WhizBase can create websites in HTML, XML or RTF that contain information from a mix of web templates and databases. WhizBase is operational with all databases supported by Microsoft Jet Engine 3.5 and 4.0, among others.
